Average Velocity

In the previous experiments you examined closely the directions from which cosmic rays come. In Activity 4 you will use a similar setup this information to calculate the speed at which cosmic rays travel.

In earlier experiments you observed that Cosmic Rays seem to be moving very fast. With this experiment you will actually calculate the speed of a Cosmic Ray.

Investigation:

What is the average speed of a Cosmic Ray?
Remember that your measuring instruments are not very precise, you will have some experimental error in this calculation.

Do this:
Write the lab title and investigation question in your lab notebook unless a handout is provided.
